The Volta Region is shifting its focus from merely showcasing investment opportunities to mobilising capital and executing projects capable of creating jobs and driving sustainable economic growth.
This is the central focus of the Volta Economic Forum 2026, held under the theme, “From Opportunity Showcase to Investment Execution.”
The Forum brought together government representatives, traditional authorities, investors, financial institutions, development partners and businesses to identify practical investment opportunities and develop partnerships to turn them into bankable projects.

Volta Regional Minister, Hon. James Gunu, highlighted agriculture and agro-processing, manufacturing, tourism, aquaculture, logistics and the proposed industrial park at Adaklu as key areas with investment potential.
He also identified tomato processing, rice, cassava and fisheries as sectors requiring increased investment to unlock their economic potential.
The Forum’s investment profile identifies Central Tongu as an emerging agro-industrial belt, with opportunities in cassava starch and ethanol production, rice milling, livestock feed production, irrigation, farm mechanisation, logistics and warehousing.
Other districts have also been identified for targeted investments.
Akatsi North has opportunities in mechanised farming and solar irrigation, while Keta has potential in aquaculture and fish processing.

Ketu South, meanwhile, has been identified for border logistics and manufacturing investments.
The Forum says its success should no longer be measured by the number of investment opportunities discussed or showcased, but by the amount of capital mobilised, businesses established, projects implemented and jobs created.
The 2026 Forum is therefore seeking to strengthen collaboration among government, the private sector, traditional authorities, investors and development partners to convert the Region’s identified economic opportunities into bankable projects and tangible investments.
