TENET Partners Transforms Mamakura with First-Ever Community Centre, Residents Appeal for More Development

Residents of Mamakura in the Nkwanta North District of the Oti Region have welcomed the commissioning of their first-ever modern community centre, constructed by TENET Partners Marketing Limited, describing it as a major milestone in the community’s development.

The newly commissioned facility, with a seating capacity of between 500 and 700 people, is expected to provide a permanent venue for community meetings, traditional ceremonies, educational programmes, health outreach services and other social activities.
Mamakura, one of the largest communities in the Nkwanta North District, has a population of more than 15,000 people across over 15 surrounding communities within a single electoral area. Despite its size and growing population, the community continues to struggle with poor road infrastructure, inadequate educational and health facilities, poor sanitation, unreliable telecommunications services and other basic social amenities.
For many years, residents held meetings, traditional ceremonies and public gatherings under trees, with activities often disrupted whenever it rained. The completion of the community centre is expected to permanently address that challenge while creating a conducive environment for community development.
The facility will also provide temporary classroom space for Junior High School students facing classroom shortages and serve as a venue for child welfare clinics, health education and other community health outreach programmes.
Speaking during the commissioning ceremony, the Team Lead of TENET Partners Marketing Limited, Isaiah Adzogatse, said the company remains committed to improving the lives of vulnerable communities through sustainable development projects that create lasting impact.
The Chief of Mamakura, Ubor Jayon Stephen II, expressed appreciation to the company for responding to one of the community’s biggest needs. He said although the project has brought relief to residents, the community still requires urgent government intervention in areas such as road infrastructure, education, healthcare, potable water and telecommunications.

Residents described the project as timely and life-changing. Community member Samuel Senanu Ahubley said the facility would strengthen social activities and provide a safe and dignified venue for important community programmes.
Health workers also welcomed the intervention, noting that the community centre would significantly improve child welfare services, health education campaigns and outreach activities for surrounding communities.
The Assembly Member for the Kpassa North West Electoral Area, Ernest Morcuin Bilindoe, said the community still faces numerous developmental challenges despite repeated appeals to the district authorities. He commended TENET Partners Marketing Limited for the intervention and appealed to government and development partners to complement the company’s efforts by investing in critical infrastructure and essential social services.
The colourful commissioning ceremony brought together chiefs, elders, opinion leaders, youth groups, traditional drumming ensembles and residents from Mamakura and neighbouring communities, who celebrated what they described as a new chapter in the community’s development.
While expressing gratitude to TENET Partners Marketing Limited, residents renewed their appeal to government to improve telecommunications services, schools, health infrastructure, roads, potable water and other essential amenities to enhance the living conditions of the people.
