The Administrator of the Ghana Sports Fund, Dr. David Kofi Waku, has reaffirmed the Fund’s commitment to supporting the Black Stars as they continue their campaign on the world stage.

Reacting to Ghana’s impressive goalless draw against England, Dr. Waku described the performance as one of determination, maturity, and tactical discipline.

He said the Black Stars displayed the kind of character that has historically defined Ghanaian football and demonstrated that they are capable of competing at the highest level.

“The players showed tremendous discipline and composure against a very strong opponent. They represented Ghana with honour and dignity, and for that they deserve commendation.”

According to him, the result has strengthened confidence in the team’s ability to qualify for the next phase of the competition.

Dr. Waku assured the players, coaches, and management of the Ghana Sports Fund’s full backing as they prepare for what could be their most important game so far in the tournament.

He noted that discussions are underway regarding a possible trip to the United States to personally encourage the players and demonstrate solidarity with the team.

“This is a defining moment, not only for the players but for Ghanaian football as a whole. The team has shown that it belongs on this stage. We want them to know that the entire nation stands firmly behind them.”

He urged the players to remain focused and avoid distractions as they prepare for Saturday’s decisive encounter.

“Qualification is within reach. The players have earned the admiration of the nation through hard work and sacrifice. They now have another opportunity to take a major step forward.”

Dr Waku further called on football fans across Ghana and in the diaspora to continue supporting the team through prayers, encouragement, and patriotism.

“The Black Stars are carrying the hopes of millions of Ghanaians. This is the time for all of us to stand together and support them.”
