Prez Mahama Attends 80th United Nations General Assembly

The President of the Republic of Ghana, John Dramani Mahama, leaves the shores of Ghana for New York to attend the 80th Session of the United Nations General Assembly, which commences on Tuesday, September 23, 2025.
President Mahama, is billed to address the General Assembly on Thursday, September 25, in his capacity as Champion for Financial Institutions for the African Union.
The President, while in New York, will also participate in high-level meetings with the UN Secretary-General, global leaders, and key stakeholders, including the President of the Rockefeller Foundation. He is also expected to meet the US-Africa Chamber of Commerce and ring the closing bell at NASDAQ.
Lordina Mahama, the Fisrt Lady who is part of the delegation will partake in events hosted by the Organisation of African First Ladies for Development (OAFLAD), and deliver a keynote address at a World Vision International prayer event for children.
Included on the delegation are; Julius Debrah (Chief of Staff), Dr. Callistus Mahama (Executive Secretary), Joyce Bawah Mogtari (Presidential Advisor), Nana Oye Bampoe Addo (Technical Adviser to the First Lady), Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa (Foreign Minister), Kwabena Mintah Akandoh (Health Minister), Felix Kwakye Ofosu (Presidential Spokesperson), Elizabeth Ofosu-Adjare (Trade Minister), Simon Madjie (CEO, Ghana Investment Promotion Centre).
Constitutionally, the Vice President, Professor Jane Naana Opoku-Agyemang, acts as president until John Dramani Mahama with his team returns to Ghana on September 30,2025.
