The incident occurred on Friday, June 20, 2025. Police say Mr. Mikati was found lying in a pool of blood inside his home. A team from the Police Headquarters’ Crime Scene Management Unit (CSMU) was dispatched to gather forensic evidence.

According to preliminary investigations, the assailants fled the scene with the deceased’s Samsung mobile phone. However, two iPhones and a GCB Bank ATM card bearing the name Paul Twumasi Ankrah were left behind, aiding the investigation.

Following leads, officers arrested the first suspect, Paul Twumasi Ankrah, at Samsam Medie. During interrogation, he named a second suspect, identified as Asiedu Henning, also known as Nana Kofi Anum.

A follow-up intelligence-led operation on July 2 led to Henning’s arrest at his hideout in Kutunse. He later directed the police to a site where investigators retrieved a knife believed to have been used in the crime. The weapon is currently undergoing forensic analysis.

The two suspects were arraigned before the Adabraka District Court 1 and have been remanded into police custody. They are scheduled to reappear in court on Tuesday, July 8, 2025.
