The Member of Parliament for Tema East, Isaac Ashai Odamtten, has announced plans to appeal to government and the Islamic Development Foundation for the redevelopment of the Tema Central Mosque.

According to the MP, the mosque—located in Tema Community One—has not undergone any major renovation since its construction several years ago, leaving it in a condition that does not reflect its status as the central mosque for Tema.

He emphasized the urgent need for a more befitting structure to serve the growing Muslim community in the area.

Hon. Odamtten made the announcement during an Iftar (breaking of fast) programme he organized for Muslims within his constituency as part of activities marking the holy month of Ramadan.

He noted that Ramadan is a period of blessings and spiritual renewal, urging Muslims to use the season for sober reflection and to strengthen their relationship with Allah.

The MP explained that the Iftar gathering, attended by Muslim leaders and constituents, was also an opportunity to offer special prayers for the President, John Dramani Mahama, and the nation.

“I hold the month of Ramadan in high esteem. It is a time of blessings for all mankind,” he stated, expressing gratitude to members of the Muslim community for honoring his invitation.

The Chief Imam of Tema, Ahmad Hussein, who led the congregation in prayers, commended the MP for his initiative and continuous engagement with the Muslim community.

He lauded Hon. Odamtten for the developmental strides in the Tema East Constituency and encouraged other Members of Parliament to emulate his leadership.

Special prayers were offered for the MP, the President, and the peace and prosperity of Ghana.
