A.T. Expressway Limited (ATEL) has launched a dedicated online platform to improve public access to information on construction activities under the ongoing Accra–Tema Motorway and Extensions Project.

The website, www.atexpresswayltd.com, is expected to serve as an information hub for motorists, residents, businesses and other stakeholders seeking updates on construction progress and developments affecting road users along the busy Accra–Tema corridor.

The initiative comes as work continues on the major road infrastructure project, which has attracted public attention over construction timelines, traffic disruptions and expectations of improved connectivity between Accra, Tema and surrounding communities.

Through the platform, ATEL aims to strengthen communication with the public by making information about the project more accessible.

Timely updates on construction milestones, traffic management arrangements and anticipated disruptions could help motorists plan their journeys and enable residents and businesses along the corridor to prepare for changes associated with the ongoing works.

The first section of the project covers a 19.5-kilometre stretch between the Tema Roundabout and the Tetteh Quarshie Interchange.

Maripoma Enterprise Limited is undertaking construction on this section, while Associated Consultants Limited serves as the project engineer.

Information presented during a media engagement on October 28, 2026, indicated that the first section had reached 53 per cent completion, although the project was slightly behind schedule.

The contractor is expected to intensify construction activities to meet the August 2027 completion target for the section.

The wider project is intended to improve the capacity and safety of the road network while easing movement between major commercial and residential centres in the Greater Accra Region.

However, the benefits of the new online platform will depend on the availability of accurate, timely and regularly updated information. For commuters who use the motorway daily, the most useful updates will include planned lane closures, traffic diversions, construction schedules and progress against announced deadlines.

The website also presents an opportunity for ATEL to deepen public engagement by providing clear explanations of project developments and addressing concerns about construction delays and the inconvenience experienced by road users.

As work progresses towards the scheduled completion date, the public will be looking for both tangible improvements on the road and reliable information to help them navigate the construction period.

Motorists and other stakeholders can visit www.atexpresswayltd.com for information about the project.
