A high-powered business delegation from Dubai has arrived in Ghana to explore new investment and trade opportunities, as commercial relations between the two economies continue to witness significant growth driven by expanding non-oil trade.

The delegation, led by the Dubai Chamber of Commerce, comprises representatives from 19 Dubai-based companies operating in sectors including construction, automotive, engineering, electronics, oil and gas, mining, food and beverages, pharmaceuticals, textiles, and consumer goods.
The mission forms part of the chamber’s “New Horizons” initiative aimed at supporting Dubai companies seeking expansion into emerging global markets.
Officials say the growing economic partnership between Ghana and Dubai is reflected in the sharp rise in bilateral non-oil trade, which reached AED39.6 billion in 2025, representing a 60.1 percent increase over the previous year.
The chamber also disclosed that 225 Ghanaian companies were active members of the business organisation by the end of the first quarter of 2026, with 16 additional Ghanaian firms joining during the period.
Speaking at the “Dubai-Ghana Business Connect” forum held in Accra, Salem AlShamsi, Executive Vice President of International Relations at Dubai Chambers, described Ghana as a strategic market for Dubai businesses seeking access to West Africa.
“We are committed to strengthening economic and trade cooperation between Dubai and the Republic of Ghana and creating new paths for sustainable business partnerships that support the shared development goals of both markets,” he stated.
He noted that the trade mission would help companies from Dubai identify investment opportunities in Ghana while contributing to the expansion of Dubai’s non-oil foreign trade portfolio.
The business forum was organised with support from the Embassy of the United Arab Emirates in Ghana, the Ghana National Chamber of Commerce and Industry, the Ghana Investment Promotion Centre, and the Consulate General of Ghana in Dubai and the Northern Emirates.
The event brought together government officials, investors, trade executives and business leaders from both countries to discuss investment partnerships and regional trade opportunities.
Key speakers at the forum included Dr Abdulla Murad Al Mandoos, Grace El Mahmoud Marabe, Stéphane Miezan, and Simon Madjie.
Presentations delivered during the forum highlighted Dubai’s position as a global commercial hub and Ghana’s growing importance as a gateway to the West African market under the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS).
Trade analysts believe the latest engagement signals stronger economic cooperation between Ghana and Dubai, particularly in areas such as logistics, manufacturing, construction, mining support services, consumer goods distribution and investment facilitation.
For Ghana, the growing interest from Dubai-based firms is expected to boost foreign direct investment and reinforce the country’s efforts to position itself as a preferred business destination in West Africa.
