The General Superintendent of the Assemblies of God Ghana, Rev. Stephen Wengam, has called on ministers of the gospel to unite people around a common vision and inspire collective action towards restoring what he described as “Jerusalem’s lost glory.”
According to him, the Church cannot rely solely on human systems for survival and growth but must continually depend on God through prayer, fasting and spiritual commitment to sustain effective ministry and leadership.

Rev. Wengam made the remarks during the dedication of a multi-purpose regional office complex by the Greater Accra East Region of the Assemblies of God in Tema. The facility was described as a beacon of faith, ministry and spiritual transformation for future generations.
Delivering a sermon on the theme, “Faith of Our Fathers: Emulating the Vision and Faith of Nehemiah,” Rev. Wengam said the biblical book of Nehemiah highlights the power of visionary leadership grounded in prayer and dependence on God.
He stressed that transformational leadership must focus on serving both the church and the wider community rather than pursuing personal ambition.
The Assemblies of God leader further urged Christians to uphold sacrificial and legacy-driven leadership marked by integrity, honesty, discipline and service to God.

He cautioned pastors and church leaders against corruption and materialism, warning that such practices could damage the image and integrity of the Church.
Rev. Wengam also challenged ministers of the gospel to embrace sacrificial leadership and remain committed to the growth of the Church and the advancement of God’s work.

The Minister for Gender, Children and Social Protection, Agnes Naa Momo Lartey, described the commissioning of the office complex as more than the opening of a magnificent structure.
She said the project reflected visionary leadership, resilience, dedication, innovation and unwavering faith.
According to her, the successful completion of the project demonstrated that God had established the work and rewarded the labour and commitment of the church leadership and congregation.
Mrs. Lartey noted that the new edifice would support the Church’s mission of nurturing souls, evangelism and spiritual growth among Christians.
The Greater Accra East Superintendent of the Assemblies of God, Rev. Andrews Awintia, expressed gratitude to pastors, church leaders, members of the congregation and the project implementation committee for their contributions towards the completion of the facility.
He particularly commended the professionalism, technical expertise and dedication of the implementation committee led by Rev. Aguba.
Rev. Awintia said he was delighted to witness the completion of a vision God placed on his heart four years ago when he assumed office, adding that the project was completed without imposing financial strain on the Church.
He disclosed that more than GH¢3 billion had been invested in missions over the past four years to support church planting, land acquisition, mission centres and the strengthening of young congregations.
The office complex, located in Tema, was named after the late Rev. Simon B. Asore, who served as Greater Accra East Superintendent from 1980 to 1986 and later as General Superintendent from 1986 to 2002.
The facility comprises three conference rooms and other administrative and ministry support facilities.
