Government Committed To Fulfill Campaign Promises

The Member of Parliament (MP) for the Tema East Constituency, Hon. Isaac Ashai Odamtten, has reiterated government’s commitment to fulfilling promises made to the people of Ghana, especially those concerning youth development.
According to the MP, for a nation to develop, there is the need to harness the potential of its teeming youth by helping them develop their talents and skills. He noted that this can be achieved through the introduction of social interventions and the establishment of youth programmes to enable young people take advantage of such initiatives for their development.
Hon. Odamtten made these remarks at during an engagement with the Muslim community and his constituents at large, providing a platform for mutual engagement.

Addressing concerns on youth unemployment, he revealed that his office was actively engaging with some CEOs of government institutions in the Tema enclave to create job opportunities for the youth.
Mr. Odamtten further stated that those in need of funds—especially women engaged in business—would be supported, as his office plans to make funds available in the coming weeks. He explained that the support would be disbursed in batches to ensure that everyone is catered for.

The MP, however, used the opportunity to caution the youth against engaging in social vices that could destroy their future, urging them instead to channel their energy into productive ventures that would secure their livelihoods.
He also expressed gratitude to the chiefs and elders of the constituency for their continuous support over the years, noting that the peace enjoyed in the constituency and the country as a whole is partly due to their efforts.
Hon. Odamtten added that the government, headed by President John Mahama, remains focused and is on track to reposition the economy to ensure that all Ghanaians benefit.
