TDC Ghana Board Tours Ongoing Projects to Shape Future Urban Development

The tour, led by Board Chairman and Member of Parliament for Tema East, Hon. Isaac Ashai Odamtten, covered significant projects including the TDC Towers, Site 3 redevelopment area, Italian Flats, Kaizer Flats, and the Government Affordable Housing Project at Community 26.

According to the Board, the visit was crucial in evaluating ongoing infrastructure and housing works to inform practical and sustainable decision-making for upcoming developments.

“We believe in hands-on leadership. This inspection allows us to understand what is working and what needs improvement as we develop the next phase of Tema’s urban future,” said Hon. Odamtten during the tour.

The delegation included Acting Managing Director Courage K.M. Nunekpeku, Elliot Gordor, Barbara L. Ayesu Esq., Ebenezer Sam, and Awal Adam — all playing active roles in reviewing construction quality, timelines, and stakeholder collaboration.

The team expressed satisfaction with work done so far, particularly in the affordable housing sector, but called for accelerated pace and enhanced value for money across all projects. The board also highlighted the need for closer public-private partnerships to scale housing supply and urban renewal initiatives.

TDC Ghana Ltd, formerly known as Tema Development Corporation, is a government-backed agency responsible for planning, developing, and managing residential and commercial spaces within Ghana’s industrial hub. The corporation is a key player in the national housing agenda.

The visit ended with an internal strategy session focused on operational challenges, innovation in housing models, and long-term planning to address Ghana’s growing urban population.
