Management and staff of Alisa Hotel have participated in a cleanup exercise in Tema, with a call on businesses in the hospitality industry to make environmental sanitation a key component of their corporate social responsibility.
The exercise formed part of the nationwide cleanup campaign championed by President John Dramani Mahama to promote cleaner and healthier communities across the country.
Speaking during the exercise, the Front Office Supervisor of Alisa Hotel, Maame Adwoah Brago, said maintaining a clean environment is essential, particularly within the hospitality industry where hygiene and sanitation are critical to service delivery and customer satisfaction.
She explained that the hotel undertook the exercise to improve the cleanliness of its surroundings while demonstrating its commitment to environmental stewardship.
Maame Brago noted that Alisa Hotel has adopted environmentally friendly waste management practices, including recycling a significant portion of its paper and plastic waste to reduce pollution and protect the environment.
She disclosed that the hotel intends to institutionalize the cleanup initiative by organizing similar exercises at least three times each year as part of its sustainability agenda.
She further urged Ghanaians to support the President’s call for a cleaner nation by actively participating in community sanitation activities and adopting responsible waste disposal practices.
Maame Brago also highlighted the hotel’s commitment to staff development, noting that management regularly organizes training programmes to build the capacity of employees and improve service standards.
The cleanup exercise brought together management and staff of the hotel, reinforcing teamwork while demonstrating the company’s commitment to environmental responsibility and community development.
