The Tema Oil Refinery, TOR, and Ghana Oil Company Limited, GOIL, are set to deepen their strategic partnership to boost the supply of locally refined petroleum products.

At a high-level meeting held today, September 2, 2026, at TOR, management of the two state-owned energy giants discussed new opportunities for collaboration in the supply and offtake of petroleum products.

TOR’s Managing Director, Mr. Edmond Kombat, briefed the GOIL delegation led by its Managing Director, on the significant progress made in ramping up refinery operations. He cited the swift execution of ongoing restart and supply processes as evidence of renewed operational discipline at Ghana’s premier refinery.

The meeting builds on the long-standing business relationship between TOR and GOIL, with GOIL remaining one of TOR’s key offtake partners.

Both parties identified new areas of cooperation under TOR’s ongoing Resetting, Transformation and Optimisation agenda. The enhanced partnership is expected to:

– Enhance national petroleum supply security

– Strengthen downstream market resilience

– Support greater price stability at the pump for consumers

– Create a more efficient and reliable downstream petroleum sector

Describing the partnership as critical to the national interest, TOR reaffirmed its commitment to working with key stakeholders like GOIL to secure Ghana’s energy future and deliver sustainable value to the Ghanaian consumer.

TOR says it is ready to serve beyond Ghana.
