The lawyer for the former Director General of the National Signals Bureau (NSB), Kwabena Adu-Boahene, has strongly criticized the handling of his client’s case by the Accra High Court, accusing the Attorney General of exhibiting dictatorial conduct in the process.
Prominent legal practitioner and Member of Parliament, Samuel Atta Akyea, voiced his frustrations during an interaction with journalists shortly after court proceedings on Wednesday. He expressed concern over what he described as undue influence and pressure being exerted on the trial judge by the Attorney General.
“There appears to be some form of dictatorship in how the Attorney General is conducting himself with regard to this case,” Atta Akyea said, lamenting the perceived lack of fairness in the court’s proceedings.
The court has fixed July 18, 2025, for the official commencement of the trial. The case centers around allegations that Kwabena Adu-Boahene and three others were involved in the misappropriation of approximately GH₵49.1 million in public funds.
The upcoming trial has already stirred public interest, with legal observers keenly watching how the judiciary will navigate the high-profile nature of the case amid accusations of executive overreach.
More updates to follow as the case progresses.
