A mammoth crowd is expected to throng the streets of Sege, the capital of the West Ada District of the Greater Accra Region, to bear teeth at the overload of Ada and his council members for what they call frantic efforts at selling them into slavery at a time slave trade is an abhorrent subject to mention.

In furtherance of their detested actions which elicited disapproval of majority of Ada indigenes home and abroad especially the youth in connection with the obnoxious Electrochem-Songor lease, the traditional council continue to clandestinely walk the corridors of the John Mahama led administration in its quest to do the bidding of the so called investor.

After supporting the McDan-led land guards aided by the Ghana Police and the military under the eswhile NPP administration to brutalise innocent indigenes killing a number of them in the last few years, the council led by Nene Ada, has also begun visiting the Flagstaff House to solicit support for the tyrrant investor.

In pursuant of this, the council surprisingly seeks to usurp the powers of the Parliament of Ghana by directing that it adopts a committees’ report the latter rejected and subsequently formed a number of different committees to further probe happenings in Ada in respect of brutalities leading to the death of many indigenes. But while the chiefs and people of the area await President John Dramani Mahama, to deliver on his promise to deal with the issue when elected as president, council members who have sidestepped the two MPs from the area are using another Dangme legislator who is a minister to pursue their sinister agenda.

Youth groupings, chiefs and elders find this actions a subtle attempt to enslave them and have decided to protest against the questionable conduct of the council to tell them that enough is enough!

A lead convenor of the demo, Abraham Tetteh Ahuma, enjoins all “Adaliabim3” and Voltarians who also come to wean Salt in Ada to join the protest to foist the oppressing hand of the Ada Tarditiinal Council off the innocent lives. “Slave trade is long gone but Nene Ada and his council members are bent on bringing back slave trade and will resist them by telling them that enough is enough” he emphasised.

Meanwhile, rumours are flying that a hired group calling itself Friends of McDan, also intend to counter the demonstration which was approved by the police to take place on Thursday june 26, 2025, on the same day and route.
