The Amedzorfe Technical Institute has begun activities to mark its 6th Edition of SRC anniversary celebration, a significant milestone in the institution’s long journey in technical and vocational education.

The anniversary week starts tomorrow, Tuesday, and will run through Saturday, with a Thanksgiving service on Sunday to climax the celebration.

Although the institute is celebrating it 6th edition SRC anniversary in its current status, the school has a long history. Amedzorfe Technical Institute was established in 1985 by the community as a day school, later absorbed by government in 2011, and upgraded to a boarding school in 2021.

Over the years, the institution has grown into an important centre for technical, vocational, and health-related education, providing practical skills training for young people within the Amedzofe area and beyond.

Management says the maiden SRC anniversary is an opportunity to reflect on the school’s growth, celebrate resilience, and mobilise support for future development.

The celebration is being organised as a fundraising event to address critical challenges facing the school, including the provision of potable water, improvement of teaching and practical training facilities, and enhancement of student welfare and boarding infrastructure.

Principal of Amedzofe technical Institute and other authorities say access to reliable water remains a major challenge, making the fundraising drive urgent and necessary.

Beyond education, the anniversary activities also promote community engagement and local tourism, with traditional leaders, parents, education stakeholders, students, and members of the public expected to participate.

Activities will climax on Saturday, followed by a Thanksgiving service on Sunday, bringing together management, staff, students, alumni, and well-wishers.

Management has appealed to government agencies, corporate bodies, NGOs, alumni associations, and benevolent individuals to support the fundraising drive and partner with the school to strengthen technical and vocational education.
