The Volta Regional House of Chiefs has raised concerns over recent developments involving the Economic and Organised Crime Office (EOCO) and the Volta Region’s representative on the Council of State, Dr. Gabriel Tanko Kwamigah-Atokple.

In a formal statement issued by the House, and signed by its President, Togbe Tepre Hodo IV, the traditional authority said it had been closely monitoring the situation and was deeply troubled by how the matter has been handled.
According to the statement, the House is particularly concerned about EOCO’s approach in dealing with the case, stressing the need for due process and respect for the rule of law in all investigations.

“The House is deeply concerned with the manner in which EOCO has handled this matter,” the statement noted, underscoring the importance of fairness and transparency in state-led investigations.
The Chiefs acknowledged a ruling by the High Court related to the case and indicated their expectation that all parties involved would comply fully with the directives of the court.
While not delving into the specifics of the allegations or legal proceedings, the House emphasized that actions taken by state institutions must uphold justice and protect the dignity of individuals, particularly those holding high public office.
The statement further called for restraint and professionalism on the part of investigative bodies, urging them to ensure that their conduct does not undermine public confidence in governance and the justice system.
Dr. Gabriel Tanko Kwamigah-Atokple, who serves as the Volta Region’s representative on the Council of State, has recently been the subject of EOCO investigations, although details of the case remain limited in the public domain.
The Volta Regional House of Chiefs reiterated its commitment to safeguarding the integrity of traditional leadership and supporting lawful processes, while calling for calm as the matter continues to unfold.
The development has sparked interest across the region, with stakeholders closely watching how the situation will be resolved within the framework of Ghana’s legal and governance systems.
