The Tema East Constituency campaign team of Dr Mahamudu Bawumia, the New Patriotic Party’s (NPP) flagbearer, has donated assorted items to over 200 Muslim women in Tema Newtown in the greater Accra region as part of Ramadan support activities. The gesture, aimed at supporting the Muslim community during the fasting period, is part of the team’s broader efforts to recapture the Tema East parliamentary seat and secure a presidential win in 2028.

Barely two days before Ramadan commenced, the team visited Waterland, a suburb of Tema Newtown, to distribute food items to Muslim women, including the elderly and youth. Team leader Mohammed Elias Pele emphasized the significance of supporting the Muslim community during this period, highlighting Dr Bawumia’s commitment to engaging with citizens.

“This gesture forms part of our efforts to recapture the Tema East parliamentary seat and secure a presidential win in 2028 through practical engagement and spiritual solidarity,” Pele said.

Alhaji Rahman Glover, a senior council member of the Tema East NPP, urged the Muslim community to support Dr Bawumia in the 2028 general elections, citing his commitment to Ghana’s development.

Beneficiaries, including Hawa Bawa and Zianab Alhassan, expressed gratitude for the support, hoping it would ease their fasting period.

The donation drive reflects Dr Bawumia’s campaign strategy of engaging with communities and addressing their needs.
